How have you reacted to the new period, marked by the pandemic, that has started in 2020 ?
We have already reported : In 2019 KERN Microtechnik GmbH received the TOP 100 award for one of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany for the creation of its Kern Micro HD machining center with its hydrostatic technology and advanced temperature management.
Which innovation(s) or product(s) have you developed in 2020 and would like to highlight ?
In 2020, despite the current situation, we did not intend to stop there and we have relentlessly pursued technical developments without any interruption until now. A new company KLM Microlaser GmbH was founded as a result of a cooperative project between Kern Microtechnik GmbH and Lightmotif B.V. It has the stated objective of introducing a new and revolutionary generation of laser micromachining systems for industrial production.The new innovative KLM-E1 laser machining center is the result of our know-how in the field of high precision combined with 15 years of experience in the laser.
Could you share your personal “motto”, which accompanies you in this particular moment and reflects your entrepreneurial philosophy ?
Simon Eickholt, CEO Kern Microtechnik GmbH : “A well-aligned company will work in a good economic environment as well as in a crisis. Continuous work, sustainable action and the goal of pushing boundaries are what drives us and help us to differentiate ourselves in the market environment and to be successful.”
Comment avez-vous réagi à la période inédite, marquée par la pandémie, qui s’est ouverte cette année ?
Comme cela a été annoncé, Kern Microtechnik GmbH a reçu en 2019 le prix TOP 100 récompensant l’une des PME les plus innovantes en Allemagne pour le développement de son centre d’usinage Kern Micro HD avec sa technologie hydrostatique et sa gestion avancée de la température.
Quelle(s) innovation(s) ou produit(s) avez-vous développé en 2020 et souhaitez mettre en avant ?
Malgré la situation de 2020, nous n’avons jamais eu l’intention de nous arrêter et avons poursuivi sans relâche les développements techniques. Une nouvelle société, KLM Microlaser GmbH, a été créée à la suite d’un projet de coopération entre Kern Microtechnik GmbH et Lightmotif B.V. Cette société a pour objectif d’introduire une nouvelle génération révolutionnaire de systèmes de micro-usinage laser pour la production industrielle. Le nouveau centre d’usinage laser innovant KLM-E1 est le résultat de notre savoir-faire dans le domaine de la haute précision combiné à 15 ans d’expérience dans le domaine du laser.
Pourriez-vous partager votre « devise » personnelle, qui vous accompagne dans ce moment particulier et reflète votre philosophie entrepreneuriale ?

Wie haben Sie auf die neue, von der Pandemie geprägte Periode reagiert, die im Jahr 2020 begonnen hat ?
Wir hatten bereits angekündigt, dass die Kern Microtechnik GmbH 2019 für die Entwicklung ihres mit einer hydrostatischen Technologie und einem fortschrittlichen Temperaturmanagementsystem ausgestatteten Bearbeitungszentrums Kern Micro HD als eines der innovativsten KMU in Deutschland gilt und mit dem TOP 100-Preis ausgezeichnet wurde.
Welche Innovation(en) oder Produkt(e) haben Sie im Jahr 2020 entwickelt, die Sie hervorheben möchten ?
Trotz der Situation in diesem Jahr haben wir nie mit dem Gedanken gespielt, aufzuhören, und haben vielmehr unsere technischen Entwicklungen konsequent vorangetrieben. Infolge eines Kooperationsprojektes zwischen Kern Microtechnik GmbH und Lightmotif B.V. wurde eine neue Firma, die KLM Microlaser GmbH, gegründet. Ziel dieser Firma ist die Einführung einer völlig neuen Generation von Lasermikrobearbeitungssystemen für die industrielle Produktion. Das neue, innovative Laserbearbeitungszentrum KLM-E1 ist das Ergebnis unseres Know-hows auf dem Gebiet der Hochpräzision und 15 Jahren Erfahrung im Laserbereich.
Könnten Sie uns Ihr persönliches „Motto“ mitteilen, welches Sie in diesem besonderen Moment begleitet und Ihre unternehmerische Philosophie widerspiegelt ?
In seiner Eigenschaft als Geschäftsleiter der Kern Microtechnik GmbH gab Simon Eickholt folgende Stellungnahme ab : „Ein Unternehmen, das in der Lage ist, sich an die jeweiligen Gegebenheiten anzupassen, kann den Betrieb sowohl in einem günstigen wirtschaftlichen Umfeld als auch in Krisenzeiten aufrechterhalten.
